The Earhart Plus is essentially our original Earhart design with some added goodies! We’ve given it a full tone stack, adding a variable bass control and making the voicing switch variable via the treble control…allowing all the tones of the original but now with more control. We have also incorporated our novel tube driven power scaling circuit powered by a 6L6 power tube (set up as a voltage regulator). This approach allows plate resistance to still exist in the power supply (despite the lack of a tube rectifier) which leads to sag and harmonic richness at any volume, except maximum wattage where the solid state rectifier directly feeds the power section.

The Earhart is our side hug to the top boost style of amplifier.  Not being into the whole clone thing, we took part of the tone stack from the original 60s design, modified it, and dovetailed into the Monarch platform retaining some of the trickery that contribute to that platform’s touch sensitivity and harmonic characteristics.  The Earhart also utilizes EL84 power tubes biased into class A.  The result is a dream come true for those seeking a top boost type sound with better clarity, harmonics and a three dimensional feel.

The Earhart features Volume, Treble, Bass, and Wattage controls. The midrange is very slightly scooped, but not as scooped as the original top boost style amps lending a satisfying sweetness to the sound.
